My Background
- I have been interested in photography for as long as I can remember. I started taken pictures with a Kodak Instamatic camera. Eventually I went from that to a 35 mm camera, which I stayed with until digital came along. I was first resistant to digital, but now I fully embrace the digital world. I believe that photography is about the eye more then the camera.
Photography as Communication
- My photographs could be called a journal of Syracuse and Central New York, the things that often go unseen daily. A reflections of our times, and ourselves, as we get lost in the progress that consumes our lives. In a world that spins forward and changes by the second, the lens of a camera is my way of slowing it down.
